Deborah Levitt is Assistant Professor of Culture and Media Studies at The New School. She is the author of The Animatic Apparatus: Animation, Vitality, and the Futures of the Image (Zero Books, 2018) and co-editor of Acting and Performance in Moving Image Culture: Bodies, Screens, and Renderings (2012). She is currently completing a book, Rendering Worlds, that investigates media’s emergent perceptual infrastructures as platforms for developing a new pluralist political imaginary. She is also co-editing, with Heather Warren-Crow, a collection of new essays on animation theory to be published as volume 3 in the Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Animation Studies.
